About This Course
Over the course of five days, this programme equips you with the essential knowledge and skills required to plan and administer a Microsoft SharePoint 2016 environment. You will learn how to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot your SharePoint setup. The course also provides guidelines, best practices, and key considerations to help you optimise your SharePoint deployment.
This is the first of two courses designed for IT professionals, aligned with the SharePoint 2016 IT Pro certification path.
Audience Profile
This course is targeted at experienced IT professionals keen on learning how to install, configure, deploy, and manage SharePoint 2016 installations in either a data centre or cloud environment.
Typically, students have over one year of hands-on experience* in planning and maintaining SharePoint, alongside two years’ experience with other core technologies that SharePoint relies on. These include Windows Server 2012 R2 or later, Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or later, Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), and networking infrastructure services.
A minimally qualified candidate typically:
- Is an IT professional responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining a multi-server deployment of SharePoint 2016.
- Has a working knowledge of, and preferably hands-on experience with, SharePoint Online.
- Has broad familiarity with SharePoint workloads.
- Has experience with business continuity management, including data backup, restoration, and high availability.
- Has experience with authentication and security technologies.
- Has experience with Windows PowerShell.
* The hands-on or job experience should stem from a solutions-based role where the candidate has worked on multiple solutions within the SharePoint space, including document management, content management, and search.
