  • Delivery of a pre-prepared training session on a topic of the participant's choice, relevant to their professional role.

Note: The duration of each participant's training session will vary based on the overall course length and group size. A group of eight is considered ideal.

Preparing a Training Session

  • Key questions for the trainer to consider in advance:
    • Why am I the right person for this?
    • What are the logistical details (what, where, when, how, and duration)?
    • How do these answers influence the structure of the training?
  • Structuring the content:
    • Research – gaining a deep understanding of the subject matter
    • Organising the content logically
    • Creating and employing complementary visual aids

Preparing the Trainer

  • The three fundamental communication tools for a trainer:
    • Verbal – selecting appropriate language and avoiding slang or jargon
    • Vocal – managing tone and sound while avoiding distracting verbal habits
    • Visual – projecting presence through attire, body language, and demeanour
  • Practicing the session and seeking honest feedback from a trusted source
  • Techniques for managing nervousness

Preparing the Environment

  • Room configurations and the subtle messages they convey to attendees
  • Leveraging the space to enhance the learning experience
  • Properly clearing and resetting the room after the session

Evaluation

  • The significance of evaluation
  • Processes for collecting and applying participant feedback

Training Skills – Review

  • Delivery of a second training session (following adequate preparation time).
