Course Outline
Day 1
Orientation and Logistics
Preparation of materials, participant check-in, and welcome refreshments.
Module 1: Building Personal Confidence
Exploring the vital connection between self-assurance and successful public speaking and personal expression.
Activity 1: Introducing Myself
Participants will take the stage to share personal insights, a practice designed to bolster confidence and self-esteem.
Module 2: Influence and Persuasion – Capturing Attention
An in-depth discussion on how to craft and deliver ideas that resonate, inspire, and command the attention of your audience.
Activity 2: The Blind Guide Challenge
In small groups, three participants will collaborate to build a tower using Lego or building blocks. Two members will be blindfolded, while one acts as the captain. The captain must guide the blindfolded team members using only verbal instructions, with one builder and one relay member working in tandem to construct the structure.
Reflection Session
A recap and group discussion to consolidate the key takeaways from the preceding exercises.
Module 3: The Architecture of Public Speaking
An examination of the structural elements of a speech, including preparation techniques and critical delivery considerations.
Activity 3: Crafting a Creative Narrative
Groups will collaborate to develop a cohesive story based on a single assigned theme.
Module 4: Constructing and Delivering Your Speech
Focusing on the strategic composition of ideas, identifying effective delivery methods, and personal preparation for presentation day.
Wrap-Up and Initial Presentations
Participants will select one of the provided topics for a brief discussion, lasting between 5 to 10 minutes.
