Course Outline

Participants will learn how to:

  • Configure the interface.
  • Set project dimensions.
  • Position guidelines within the project, including column distribution.
  • Save project files.
  • Use the tool palette.
  • Insert text and graphics from other files and programmes, including Microsoft Office.
  • Work with text frames and graphics in Adobe InDesign.
  • Employ tools for editing text and graphics.
  • Create ornamental text.
  • Link text boxes in a logical flow.
  • Create your own library of useful tools.
  • Create custom style symbols, characters, graphics, fonts, and colours.
  • Save time by using tools for rapidly switching between self-created styles.
  • Create patterns for repetitive project elements.
  • Work with colours in various palettes.
  • Work with multi-page documents.
  • Set numbering and sections.
  • Manage externally attached files.
  • Print the document.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with vector and raster graphics is advantageous but not essential
